HILLSBORO, Ore- On August 8, 2023, Michael Gordon Dick pleaded guilty to two counts of Felony Public Indecency. On September 11, 2023, Judge Erik Buchér sentenced the defendant to 90 months in prison. Senior Deputy District Attorney Allison Brown prosecuted the case.

On August 17, 2022, Beaverton police responded to a call from a concerned neighbor.  The neighbor could see Mr. Dick standing on a bench on his backyard deck. He was unclothed from the waist down and was looking into the neighbors’ backyards. Police confronted the suspect and asked if he ever stood on the bench. He indicated he was too ill to do so and denied the claims.

Another neighbor provided surveillance camera footage directly contradicting the defendant’s claims. The clips showed the defendant in various stages of undress standing on the bench or a ladder as he looked over his fence into neighboring yards. He could also be seen masturbating.

The defendant has a lengthy criminal history including multiple convictions for public indecency, which elevated these crimes to felonies. He was also on probation for felony public indecency at the time of this incident.

At the defendant’s sentencing hearing, multiple concerned citizens attended, and the court heard two victim impact statements.  The Washington County District Attorney’s Office thanks the concerned neighbors for their assistance on this case. This office also acknowledges the work of the Beaverton Police Department.

Mr. Dick will be transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections to begin serving his sentence.
